Neutron Summer School Accomodations

There is a wide range of accommodation available in the upper Ottawa Valley, which is a popular tourist area. The nearest town to the Chalk River Laboratories is Deep River, which is approximately 16 km from the labs. For attendees who choose to, we have booked some accommodation at Ogilvie's Cottages. The holiday cottages, with shared facilities and living area will be an economical way to stay in the area. The accommodation consists of six houses on a small beach 10-11 km beyond Deep River, near Meilleur's Bay . Four bedrooms per house Heated, Kitchen Equipped, BBQ, Linens Supplied, Shared kitchen/washroom/shower/bath/living room area. Cost is $30/night single room (taxes included). In addition, cheaper, shared accommodation may be possible at this site. Please contact Niki Schrie directly to discuss availability and rates, if you are interested in sharing a room.

If you want a broad scale overview of important places in the region associated with the summer school then this Google Map should provide you with the information you need to get to the Summer School. If the Google map loads correctly in your browser, you should be able to see the location of Ogilvie's Cottages, the JL Gray Building, where the morning lectures will be held Monday-Friday, and the front gate of Chalk River Laboratories, where you will have to check in for security and badging on Monday-Thursday afternoons.
